Instruction for changing your PC's serial port settings
If the interface unit's serial port is off (DISABLED) or if the settings have been changed erroneously, then the settings must be changed. Before you change the settings, write down the previous settings from the computer's BIOS settings and the Windows Control Panel. If you are not familiar with this operation, contact a specialist or your local computer dealer for assistance.
In new computers, the serial port settings are changed via the computer's BIOS settings and the Windows Control Panel settings. If the port settings are not found in your computer's BIOS, then the settings can (usually) be changed by using the small switches located on the motherboard or on the additional cards, or by using jumpers. For more setting details, see your computer's user's manual.
The settings of internal modems are generally changed by using the modem card's switches or jumpers, or, in some computers with the aid of additional software. See your modem's user's manual for more detailed setting information.
Note! If the BIOS settings or the modem settings are changed, then the Windows' port settings must be changed correspondingly
