Heart Rate Monitor Communications/Software

Options to connect the Interface unit

In general, there are two cases for connecting a mouse, a Polar interface unit and a possible internal modem:

Case 1:

If the mouse has been connected to port Com 1, the interface unit and the modem can be connected as follows:

a) Connect the modem to port Com 2

and the interface unit to port Com 4

or

b) Connect the interface unit to port Com 2
and the modem to port Com 4
Note! If the mouse is in port Com 1, then port Com 3 can usually not receive any devices.

Note! In some computers serial port Com 4 cannot be selected or made to function properly as its address overlaps that of another device, usually the display adapter. If this is the case, the only way to make the interface unit work is to change the mouse to the Com 2 port and, respectively, the modem and the interface units to ports Com 1 and Com 3.

Case 2:

If the mouse is connected to port Com 2, then the interface unit and the modem can be connected as follows:

a) Connect the modem to port Com 1
and the interface unit to port Com 3
or

b) Connect the interface unit to port Com 1
And the modem to port Com 3
Note! If the mouse is in port Com 2, then port Com 4 can usually not receive any devices.

If the interface unit is connected to a "wrong" port, then the connections must be changed as instructed in section 1 or 2 above.
