The following table describes compatibility between transmitters and receivers.

Polar has two kind of transmitters: Polar Transmitter (T31) and Polar Coded Transmitter (T31c or T61).

The Polar Coded Transmitters (T31C, T61) are used with M-series and S-series receivers. Please see the below table of the compatibility.

(* The receiver is meant to be used with the non-coded transmitter. However, it can measure heart rate with the coded transmitter too, but it cannot use the benefit of coding.

(** AW200 does not support heart rate monitoring functionality

(z The receiver is meant to be used with the coded transmitter. However, it is compatible with the non-coded transmitter, but the non-coded transmitter does not support the OwnCode feature. If the receiver does not find the code in the beginning of the measurement (usually about 30 seconds), it starts to detect (non-coded) signal from the transmitter.

Older Models

* The receiver is meant to be used with the non-coded transmitter. However, it is compatible with the coded transmitter too, but it cannot use the benefit of coding.

** The receiver is meant to be used with the coded transmitter. However, it is compatible with the non-coded transmitter. If the receiver does not find the code in the beginning of the measurement (usually about 30 seconds), it starts to detect (uncoded) signal from the transmitter.

*** Polar Xtrainer Plus, Protrainer XT, S510/S520, S710/S720i/S725/S725x and S625X are compatible only with the coded transmitter. This is because the cycling features (speed and cadence) need to have the coding feature.
